The laboratory is headed by, Doctor of agricultural sciences Fedorovich E.L.

The laboratory was formed in 2005 as a laboratory of animal breeding and genetics. From 2007 -till now it is a laboratory of biological bases of animal genetics and selection

Our laboratory is focused on:

Investigation of dairy cattle biological and selection features, elaboration of theoretical bases of its adaptation and reproduction ability

Main directions of the laboratory are:

• Development and consolidation of the western Ukrainian black-and-speckled breed
• Studying of the selection, genetics and biology traits of western Ukrainian black-and-speckled breed
• Creation of new lines and families
• Elaboration of effective methods of the genophone conservation of local rare and modern highly productive breeds
• Innovation of immunogenetic and biochemical methods in dairy cattle selection
• Obtaining of genetic markers of heredity material during breeds genealogical structure formation
• Studying of the dynamic of genetic variety of populations and breeds in western Ukrainian region
• Elaboration and theoretical explanation of the selection parameters using the development and growth indexes, milk production, reproductive ability and genetically - biological trait complexes
• Elaboration of selection and pedigree cattle working planes and dairy cattle selection programs

Experiments are carrying out with productive animals using modern methods of zoothechnic, biochemistry, chemistry, genetics, and biometry.
