RULES OF EXECUTING THE ARTICLES FOR MAGAZINE "ANIMAL BIOLOGY"

Editorial office accepts original articles on main directions of animal biology: physiology and biochemistry, molecular biology, genetics, cytology, biophysics, microbiology and biotechnology and discussion articles, reviews journal publications and new books.

According to the Decision of Higher Attestation Committee of Ukraine "About heightening the demands to professional editions, included to the list of HAC of Ukraine", editorial office accepts scientific articles which have such important elements: setting the problem in general and connecting it with important scientific and practical tasks, analysis of the recent researches and publications in which solving of this problem was initiated and on which the author leans on. The unsolved part of the problem to which the article is devoted should be shown. The goals of the article should be formulated; the main material of the researches with exhaustive explanation of scientific results and the conclusions and further research prospects should be given.

Articles are published in Ukrainian, for foreign authors in Russian or in English.

At the first page at the bottom the contact data of the authors should be given (family name, name, patronymic name, postal address, phone number with city code)

Article manuscript should be sent in two copies on white paper, printed in Word 2003 or 2007 (font size 12, interval - 1, demy - A4 with margins: left and right - 2,0, head margin and bottom margin - 2,5, indention - 5 signs. Hard copy on the 3,5 floppy. The article should have not more than 20 pages (30 pages for the review article), including a list of the used literature, tables, pictures, summary in English and Russian.

Tables, pictures, explanations to the pictures should be given in the text in order of mentioning. Initial letters and family names of the authors, article title, institution and key words are given in the summary in the language this summary is.

Experimental works are given with expert conclusion from the institution where the researches were carried out concerning the possibility of their publication. If the researches were partially carried out in other institutions they should give written consent for the publication. The manuscript must be signed by each of the authors.

On the first page in the left head corner - Ukrainian State Classification Code, under it ARTICLE TITLE (capital, in thick print), initial letters and family name of the author (italic type), name of the scientific institution, where the author works or studies (in regular type, font size 12), lower - short conclusion (not less than 10 lines in italic type, font size - 10). The conclusion should be connected with the goal and main results of the work. There also should be the key words (10-15 words IN CAPITAL).

The history of the scientific question is shortly given in the preface with mentioning the sources. Here the goal of the research should be substantiated.

The part Materials and methods should be formed in such a way that it was possible to reproduce the researches. It is enough to give reference on well-known methods. The species and amount of the used animals and used methods of anaesthetization and euthanasia should be given obligatory.

The part results and discussion should include only the most important facts taking into consideration preceding data concerning this question. The repetition of table data should be avoided in this part.

Conclusions should include 5-10 sentences. After the conclusions the prospects of further researches should be given (3-4 sentences).

There should be bibliography references. The list of the referred literature in order of mentioning in the text (marked with numbers in square brackets) and added at the end of the article. References on the literature in foreign languages are given in original language. References on unpublished sources are not allowed.

References quantity in the experimental article should not exceed 20.

Tables. Word abbreviation, giving the abbreviations, except the well-known is not allowed in the tables. Number data should be rounded off, according to the settled rules and taking into account the average error. Probability of the differences should be substantiated with statistic analysis. The similar results should not be given in the tables and pictures. All the columns in the tables should have the title and filled with the appropriate data.

Illustrations. Pictures are given in order of mentioning. Photographs should be sent scanned and pasted in order of mentioning. Photographs of chromatographic and other similar researches should not be replaced by drawn schemes. Non - contrasting gel photographs of law quality will not be accepted.

Formulas. Chemical and mathematical formulas should be printed in Latin. The capital letters should be marked (two lines from the bottom) and small letters (two lines from above), the superscript and subscript should be marked too.

The data of receiving the article is the data of receiving the final manuscript variant.

Editorial office sends the author the first page proof for checking and correcting the mistakes. It should be checked, signed and sent to the editorial office on the day of receipt.

In the case of manuscript disproof the editorial office leaves one copy of it in the archives.

Attention! Editorial office has a right to return the article executed with violation of these Rules to the author for the correction without the registration. It might influence publication terms.
