On September 9–10, 2026, the International Practical Forum "Pigs Farming Industry: Challenges. Risks. Changes. Solutions" took place once again in Lviv. Scientists from the Institute of Animal Biology of the NAAS—researchers Taras Prudyus and Andrii Voltornistyi from the Immunology Laboratory—participated in the event.

The themes of this year's event were particularly relevant to the scientists, as modern industrial pig farming faces a number of serious challenges:
▪️ rising production costs;
▪️ the threat of African Swine Fever;
▪️ stricter requirements for biosecurity and animal welfare;
▪️ the need to implement modern veterinary solutions;
▪️ the digitalization of production processes;
▪️ the industry's adaptation to European standards.
The forum also featured expert presentations, practical reports, and panel discussions focused on improving the efficiency and profitability of pig farming enterprises, as well as on veterinary safety, biosecurity, nutrition, reproduction, and modern production technologies.
The participation of the Institute's representatives in such professional events facilitates the exchange of scientific knowledge and practical experience, the establishment of professional contacts, and a better alignment of scientific research with the industry's current needs.
