On September 24, 2026, the Institute of Agriculture of the Carpathian Region of the NAAS hosted the International Scientific and Practical Conference titled "Strategic and Innovative Development of Ukraine's Livestock Sector Amidst Global Challenges: Experience and Issues." The conference brought together scientists from Ukraine, the Czech Republic, and Poland, as well as government officials, representatives of the agricultural sector, PhD students, and university students.
Scientists from the Institute of Animal Biology of the NAAS, led by the Institute's Director, Yurii Tarasovych Salyha, also took part in the event. The Institute was represented by: Alla Volodymyrivna Hunchak (Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Senior Researcher, Head of Laboratory); Yaroslav Mykolaiovych Sirko (Candidate of Agricultural Sciences, Senior Researcher, Leading Researcher); Bohdan Yaroslavovych Kyryliv (Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Senior Researcher, Leading Researcher); Tetiana Volodymyrivna Buslyk (Candidate of Biological Sciences, Senior Researcher, Leading Researcher); Serhii Romanovych Sachko (PhD, Junior Researcher); Ruslan Leonidovych Androshulik (PhD, Researcher); and Bohdan Ivanovych Kotyk (PhD, Researcher).
A key highlight of the Institute's participation was the presentation by Director Yurii Salyha, who introduced conference participants to the latest innovative methods and technologies promising for modern livestock farming and showcased the scientific achievements and capabilities of the Institute of Animal Biology of the NAAS. Overall, conference participants discussed pressing issues regarding the development of the agricultural sector and modern livestock farming. The proceedings covered the following thematic areas: animal biology; livestock nutrition and feed technology; breeding, selection, and reproduction of livestock and poultry; livestock production and processing technology; veterinary-sanitary standards and environmental issues in livestock farming; forage and grassland management; and the economics of livestock production.
