Laboratory of biochemistry adaptation and ontogenesis of animals

In 1960 the laboratory of higher nervous activity was founded. The head of laboratory was Dr.Sc. Medianik I. A. (1960-1962). In 1962 it was called "laboratory neurohumoral regulation". The heads of laboratory were: Prof. E. M. Berkovich (1962-1963); Prof. Skorodynskyy Z. P. (1963-1972); k. b. s. Hanyn M. D. (1972-1980); Prof. Golovach V. N. (1980-1988) and from 1988 to 2011 – Acad. of NAAS Snitynskyy V. V.
In 1994 the laboratory was called laboratory of endocrine regulation. From 2007 to 2011 – laboratory of pigs nutrition. From 2013 the head of laboratory is Dr.sc.b. Iskra R.Ya.

Activity

Since its inception in the laboratory studied:
• influence different factors on the functional state of the gastrointestinal tract;
• the role of the small intestine of ruminants in digestion;
• exchange of nitrogen compounds;
• influence of stress factors and adaptation processes on the metabolic processes in the body of farm animals;
• regulatory mechanisms of hemopoesis;
• antioxidant activity, endocrine and immune systems of animals.

Research areas:

  • study of substrate-hormonal mechanisms of regulation of antioxidant system and energy metabolism in tissues and blood cells of animals;
  • study of physiological and biochemical mechanisms of regulation of adaptive processes in animals in the critical periods of ontogenesis;
  • regulation of anabolic processes dynamics, the intensity of hemopoiesis and immune system activity in different periods of ontogenesis;
  • study of physiological and biochemical processes in the animal organism for hyperglycemia and their correction with citrates of macro- and microelements;
  • increase of productivity, stress resistance and adaptive ability of the organism of animals for the action of biologically active substances of different origin.

The laboratory performs tasks for 2016 -2020:
Study of the biological characteristics of action of the citrate microelements in different periods of animals ontogenesis.
Study the physiological and biochemical mechanisms of action of the biologically active substances on the metabolic processes in animals.
During the existence of the laboratory more than 50 candidates and 6 doctors were prepared.

Product "Ferocyt". It provides of preventing of ferumdeficient anemia of piglets.
"Method of increasing tolerance to stress of piglets during weaning from the sow." Method of provides increased of piglet average daily gains by 10.1% and survival by 6.9%.
"Anti-stress feed additive for pigs." It provides higher average daily gain of pigs by 17%, live weight - 15%, survival - 7% .
"Method of increasing productivity and tolerance to stress of pigs." Average daily gain of the piglets born from these sows were higher by 14%, live weight - 18% and survival - 13%.
"Method of increasing productivity and tolerance to stress of piglets." The result is that average daily gain increased by 10.07%, and the survival of piglets - 6.9%.
